Staff Reporter :
The interim government has transferred 230 trial court judges across the country in one of the largest judicial reshuffles in recent years.
Among the transferred judges are 53 Additional District and Sessions Judges, 40 Joint District and Sessions Judges, and 96 Senior Assistant Judges and Assistant Judges.
The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, through four separate notifications from the Law and Justice Division, issued the transfer orders on Monday. The transferred District and Sessions Judges have been instructed to hand over their current responsibilities and join their new postings by Thursday, 28 August.
On the same day, the President appointed 25 judges to the High Court Division of the Supreme Court. The Ministry of Law issued a notification regarding the appointments following the President’s directive.
This judicial reshuffle marks one of the largest simultaneous transfers and appointments in recent times, affecting judges at multiple levels across the country.
