Country’s both bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – on Monday plunged further due to mainly price fall in large-cap securities.
DSEX the broad index of DSE declined by 22.8 points or 0.4 per cent. to settle at 5,332 points as against 5,355 points in the previous trading session, reports BSS.
On the sectoral front, Bank (25.7 per cent.) issues exerted the highest turnover, followed by Textile (9.1 per cent.) and Pharmaceutical (9.0 per cent.) sectors.
Sectors mostly displayed negative returns, out of which General Insurance (-2.6 per cent.), Life Insurance (-2.1 per cent.) and Ceramic (-1.9 per cent.) showed the most corrections on the bourse on Monday.
Out of the 397 issues traded, 117 advanced, 229 declined and 51 remained unchanged.
The port city bourse, CSE, also witnessed a profit-booking session on Monday.
