Times of India :

Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya left Manipur on Wednesday, heading for Assam, just a day after violent clashes erupted between students and security forces during a protest march.
Officials confirmed that Acharya, who also holds the position of Assam’s governor, left Imphal around 10am, though they did not provide further details regarding his sudden departure.
The students had been protesting against the state’s Director General of Police (DGP) and security advisor, accusing them of failing to control escalating ethnic violence in Manipur.
At least 11 people lost their lives in gunfights, as well as drone and rocket attacks, during last week’s violence in Manipur.
In response to Tuesday, curfew and internet shutdowns were imposed across the Imphal valley.
On Tuesday night, Acharya met with 11 student representatives to discuss their concerns, although tensions remain high.
Meanwhile, in an effort to stabilize the situation, Manipur University has postponed all undergraduate and postgraduate examinations until further notice. The university will announce rescheduled dates soon.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh addressed the ongoing unrest, meeting with student groups and pledging to resolve the challenges facing the state’s education system.
He reassured students of the government’s commitment to restoring order and ensuring justice for victims of recent drone attacks
