An 18-year-old youth, Md. Takbir, was abducted and killed him as demanded ransom was not paid, police and family members said.
Locals discovered the body on Wednesday at about 4:00 p.m. on the ground floor of an abandoned four-storey building in Wada Colony, Boubazar, Ward No. 4 of Narayanganj City Corporation.
Siddhirganj police recovered the body after being notified. The victim was the son of Nur Mohammad.
Takbir’s elder brother, Hridoy, said Takbir had been missing since Tuesday night. Although his phone remained switched on, the family could not contact him.
They received a call from an unknown number saying Takbir was being held and demanding a ransom of 40,000 taka for his release.
