A man was killed when a human hauler knocked him down in the capital’s Gulistan area on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Joynal Abedin, 39, a cleaner of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), police said.
Quoting the witnesses, Gulistan Police Outpost In-Charge and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Monirul Islam said that Joynal was critically injured by the human hauler near the Mahanagar Natya Mancha at Gulistan under Ramna Police Station at 8:00am. He succumbed to injuries on the way to the Dhaka Medical College and
Hospital (DMCH) at about 8:30pm.
The body had been sent to the DMCH morgue for an autopsy, he said.
Police seized the vehicle, but the driver fled instantly, the police official said.
