Man held with gold bars worth over Tk 1.6cr

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a smuggler along with 11 gold bars from Satkhira’s at Bhomra Lakshidari border area on Thursday. The detainee is Zakir Hossain, 31, son of Arijul Molla of Lakshidari village in Bhomra union.
Acting on tip-off, a team of BGB-33 conducted a drive in the area on Thursday night and caught Zakir red-handed along with 11 gold bars while he was trying to smuggle those into India, said its captain Ashraful Haque.
