Maldivian Foreign Minister Dr Abdulla Khaleel has expressed a keen interest in enhancing collaboration with Bangladesh in multifaceted arenas for mutual benefits.
He made the remarks during a courtesy call by Bangladesh’s newly appointed High Commissioner to the Maldives, Dr Md Nazmul Islam, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Malé on Sunday, according to Foreign Ministry.
Minister Khaleel congratulated Dr Nazmul Islam on his appointment and praised Bangladesh’s continued support and friendship toward the Maldives.
Both sides expressed optimism that bilateral relations between the two South Asian nations would strengthen in the coming years.
The discussion focused on expanding cooperation in education, trade, and culture, while exploring new avenues for mutually beneficial engagement.
Both leaders also highlighted the importance of solidarity in addressing shared challenges and promoting sustainable prosperity.
Minister Khaleel was joined by Secretary Aminath Shabeena, Ambassador-at-Large Dr Mohamed Fahmy Hassan, Additional Secretary Aminath Abdulla Didi, and Political Director Mohamed Azkan Ashraf.
