Bangladesh – Marking a significant milestone for Bangladesh’s medical community, Dr. Vincent Tan, Senior Consultant ENT and Head & Neck Surgeon from KPJ Klang Specialist Hospital in Malaysia, has completed a two-week advanced training in the Modified Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy Vestibular Approach (TOETVA)—a cutting-edge technique for scarless thyroid surgery.
Dr. Tan underwent this specialized training under the guidance of Dr. D. Mahbub Alam, a leading ENT specialist in Bangladesh and a pioneer in the field of scarless thyroid surgery. Dr. Alam is widely recognized for his expertise in endoscopic thyroid procedures and for championing the adoption and advancement of TOETVA in the country.
The training, conducted in Dhaka, marks a proud moment for Bangladesh’s healthcare system, demonstrating its growing stature as a hub for minimally invasive surgical education. The TOETVA technique, which leaves no visible scars, is gaining international recognition for its patient-friendly outcomes and aesthetic advantages.
