A six-month makeup training program for underprivileged and school-dropout youth has successfully concluded in the capital On Tuesday. The programme “Make-Up Your Dream” was organised by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) and provided hands-on training to 150 participants. A certificate distribution ceremony marked the end of the training programme.
The event also celebrated the top three trainees with special gifts, while all participants received makeup toolkits to support their future endeavors.
The training programme was divided into two phases: three months of theoretical instruction and three months of internship. During the internship period, participants gained practical experience working in various beauty salons and received remuneration for their work.
The certificate distribution event was attended by Asif Mahmud, Director of the NGO Affairs Bureau, as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Shahriar Reza, Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Development (DYD); Mohammad Shafiq, Assistant Director of the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA); Jo Hyun Ma Stan, Country Director of ADRA Bangladesh; Nasrin Begum, Assistant Director of DYD; Farzana Sharmin, Secondary Education Officer of Pallabi Thana; Anwar Islam, Regional Manager of ISEP; Sub-Inspector Salma of Pallabi Thana; and Shimu Caroline Shikder, Program Director of ADRA Bangladesh.
The event was hosted by Tilottama Sangma. This initiative aims to empower marginalized communities by equipping them with skills those open doors to sustainable employment opportunities.
