Readers’ Voice: Make early education more effective

block

The early years of a child’s development are vital for nurturing social and cognitive abilities. However, the business model of many educational institutions, including preschools, often disrupts the Montessori approach.

These schools tend to prioritize completing the curriculum over promoting essential developmental aspects.

In my own experience, the preschool my child attends emphasizes course completion and homework, with minimal focus on physical and mental activities.

This method hinders the holistic development crucial in early childhood. While some Montessori schools provide a more balanced education, their high costs make them unaffordable for many families.

Educational authorities must address this issue. There is a pressing need for reforms in early childhood education to create a balance between structured learning and developmental activities. Such changes would make early education more effective and accessible, ensuring every child gets the best start in life.
