Major reshuffle in Bangladesh Army

The Bangladesh Army’s top brass has undergone a sweeping overhaul, reassigning several senior officers to new roles and relieving Major General Ziaul Ahsan from service.
The comprehensive reshuffle was officially announced in a press release by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) directorate on Tuesday afternoon.
The leadership changes involve key appointments across various strategic positions within the army and related government sectors. Lieutenant General Saiful Alam has been assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reflecting a strategic alignment between military leadership and diplomatic efforts.
Lieutenant General Mujibur Rahman will now serve as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) at the Army Training and Doctrine Command, where he will be responsible for overseeing training operations and developing military doctrines.
Lieutenant General Ahammad Tabrej Shams Chowdhury has been appointed as the Quarter Master General, taking charge of logistics and supply chains essential to army operations. Lieutenant General Mizanur Rahman Shamim will assume the role of Chief of General Staff, a critical position involving the planning and execution of military operations.
Lieutenant General Mohammad Shahinul Haque has been named the Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC),
where he will lead the training of senior military and civilian leaders. In addition, Major General ASM Ridwanur Rahman has been appointed as the Director General of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Centre (NTMC), where he will oversee the security and surveillance of national telecommunications.
