Newly appointed Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Mainul Hasan joined office today.
He also requested all members of the DMP and city dwellers to give cooperation in maintaining law and order in the DMP jurisdiction, Assistant Commissioner (Media) of DMP Jahangir Kabir told BSS here today.
Earlier in the morning, Mainul Hasan, who was Deputy Inspector General of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police, was appointed as the new commissioner of the DMP.
He was appointed for the post of new DMP chief (current), according to a gazette notification issued here.
Mainul Hasan was replaced DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman who was transferred to the Police Headquarters as Additional Police Inspector General, the notification said.
