Mahjebin Shirin Pia is seeking nomination of parliament member for the Pabna-Sirajganj (42) reserved women’s seat in the Jatiya Sangsad. She is the daughter of late language soldier and valiant freedom fighter former land minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif Dilu and women’s affairs secretary of Pabna district Awami League.
On Sunday (January 28) night, she held a press conference and announced that she would be a candidate for a member of the national parliament in the reserved women’s seat.
Woman leader Mahjebin Shirin Pia paid deep respect to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, all the martyrs of his family and four national leaders and said that the way the country is moving forward under the opportune leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the mother of humanity, I am looking forward to being nominated as a woman member of parliament to be her proud partner.
Earlier, Pia was elected as the woman vice chairman of the Upazila Parishad and won by a huge margin. He sought the nomination of Awami League as a candidate for Pabna-4 seat in the 12th National Assembly elections.
