Mahfuj Alam has been appointed as the new adviser to the Interim Government’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, succeeding Md Nahid Islam after his resignation. Alam, who had been serving as a non-ministerial adviser, now takes over the role.
In addition, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has taken on the responsibility of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, a portfolio previously held by Nahid Islam.
The Cabinet Division issued a circular in this regard on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Nahid Islam resigned from the advisory council of the interim government, stepping down as the adviser for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Moreover, Nahid oversaw the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology. He submitted his resignation letter to Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus following an informal meeting of the Advisory Council held at 1pm on Tuesday.
