Mahedi in ICC top ten T20 bowling ranking

Bangladeshi cricketers achieved a best performance in the outgoing West Indies series. Bangladesh Cricket team failed to earn acceptable performances in the three-match One Day International (ODI) series against West Indies Cricket team.

But the Tigers were successful in the rest of the two formats (Test and T20I). Specially, Bangladesh Cricket team whitewashed the Caribbeans in the three-match T20I series. The cricketers of Bangladesh Cricket team not only successful in their team effort but also successful in their personal performance. Thus, the bowlers of Bangladesh Cricket team have improved their ICC rankings.

The right-arm off-spinner Mahedi Hasan has taken place in 10th position of the ICC T20I bowlers. He has advanced from 13 steps and his rating point is 636.

Mahedi Hasan captured four wickets in the space of 13 runs in the first T20I against West Indies.

He bagged two wickets at the cost of 20 runs in the second T20I against the Caribbeans. He also claimed two wickets in the last T20I against the Windies in the last T20I. He altogether harpooned eight wickets playing three T20I matches against the Caribbeans.

The pacers of Bangladesh also shone with cherry. The right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed has advanced seven steps and the speedstrer has taken 11th position.

His rating point is 630.
Right-arm leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has advanced 21 steps and has taken 17th place. It is the ever best position for the spinner.

Promising right-arm pacer Hasan Mahmud has advanced 23 steps and has taken 24th position.
Jaker Ali stole the spotlight with his batting throughout the Windies series, scoring 120 runs in three matches to top the charts.

His standout performance came in the final T20, where he smashed an unbeaten 72 runs with a flurry of boundaries and sixes, earning the Player of the Match award.

This exceptional display saw Jaker make a significant jump of 85 spots in the ICC rankings. He is now ranked 87th, tied with New Zealand’s Kane Williamson.

However, the rankings brought disappointing news for other Bangladeshi batters. Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mahmudullah Riyad, Litton Das, and Towhid Hridoy all experienced drops in their rankings.

Among batters, no Bangladeshi player features in the top 30, while Australia’s Travis Head retains the top spot.

West Indies’ Akeal Hosein continues to lead the T20 bowling rankings.
