A 17- year old boy named Mahbub -al- Hasan from Kishoreganj has been nominated for the ‘Children’s Nobel’ award from the Amsterdam-based Kids Rights Foundation in Netherlands.
The organization gives this award to children from different countries of the world every year for their special contribution to protecting the environment, climate, and children’s rights.
Mahbub Al Hasan son of Abdullah- al-Hasan in Kishoreganj ‘s Char -Sholakia. He passed the 2024 Alim (HSC) examination from Haibatnagar AU Kamil Madrasa, Kishoreganj and is preparing for University admission. He got GPA-5 in both the Dakhil and Alim examinations.
Mahbub founded an organization called ‘The Change Bangladesh’ three years ago. Under the initiative of this organization, the online platform ‘Blood Search’ has been opened for blood of sick children.
He is also working on creating awareness about child health and climate, planting saplings and distributing notebooks and pens among marginalized children, and neglected children of the haor.
According to the website of the KidsRights Foundation, the organization was established in 2003.
The organization gives the ‘International Children’s Peace Prize’ to children from different countries of the world working on child rights.
Many people also call it the ‘Children’s Nobel’ Prize. This organization works on children’s rights and their progress based on three pillars.
The pillars are advocacy, research and work. The organization invites applications for the award. Once the applications are submitted, various selection committees scrutinize them and prepare a list of nominees.
Mahbub expressed his excitement after being nominated for the Children’s Nobel Prize, saying that this nomination made him more responsible for children and the country, and increased his interest in work many times over.
Principal of Hoybatnagar AU Kamil Madrasa Moulona Md. Azizul Haque said that the entire madrasa family is overjoyed to know the news of Mahbub’s nomination.
Mahbub said that he applied for the award last May with all the evidence of his work.
On October 9, he saw the news of his nomination on the Kids Rights Foundation website. The organization has published all the information including his name and photo.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC,General) Mizabe Rahmat said that, since the organization itself gives the award, the administration does not have any information regarding this.
