Sharmeen S. Murshid, Adviser on Women and Children Affairs, has stated that the trial of the child rape case in Magura will be completed within the next month.
She made the remarks on Sunday morning, the first working day after the Eid holidays.
“The Ministry of Law is actively working on this matter. The government is committed to ensuring justice in this case. The Ministry of Women and Children Affairs is closely monitoring the proceedings. While the Law Ministry can provide more specific details, we are maintaining constant pressure for an expedited trial,” she said.
Reflecting on this year’s Eid, she added, “This Eid was different. I spent it with families affected by the July-August incidents. As a human rights activist, I felt like I celebrated Eid with all 180 million people of this country, which made it especially meaningful.”
