Directives have been issued to correct errors in the information of students receiving scholarships under the merit-general categories in three government Alia madrasas and MPO-enlisted private madrasas. For the seamless transfer of funds via the Government-to-Person (G2P) Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) system, institutions have been instructed to correct data for regular students and those whose accounts have experienced bounce-backs. Additionally, the information of new students must be updated in the Management Information System (MIS). A circular has been sent to the heads of all madrasas regarding these instructions.
This information was revealed in a letter from the Directorate of Madrasa Education issued on Monday. The letter stated that, following the Ministry of Finance’s decision, scholarship funds from the revenue sector are being transferred directly to students’ bank accounts through the G2P EFT system. However, some scholarship recipients’ data are yet to be entered, and certain institutions have submitted erroneous data such as incorrect bank account numbers, branch names, and examination years. Furthermore, EFT bounce-backs have occurred due to issues like incorrect account numbers or routing numbers. For students whose stipends were returned due to bounce-backs, relevant account details need to be corrected for retransmission.
Guidelines for Data Entry in the MIS Software
1. Ensure that scholarship recipients are regularly enrolled and actively studying before entering their information.
2. Do not enter data for students who have discontinued studies.
3. Students must open bank accounts in their own names at any scheduled bank in Bangladesh with online banking facilities.
4. The student’s name and the name on the online bank account must match.
5. The online bank account number must be 13 to 17 digits and entered accurately.
6. Enter the student’s exam ID/registration number, exam name, and year correctly.
7. Correctly specify the scholarship category (merit or general).
8. Enter the bank name, branch name, routing number, and student bank account number accurately.
