MA Kashem has been elected as chairman of the board of directors of Southeast Bank PLC.
He was unanimously elected chairman of the bank in its 743rd board meeting held on Sunday.
Kashem is the founder chairman and sponsor director of Southeast Bank PLC.
He is chairman of Rose Corner (Pvt.) Limited. Kashem is also a member of North South University Trust and a founder life-member of North South University Foundation.
He has served as its chairman four times, and was also chairman of NSU Foundation’s Endowment Committee several times.
Kashem is the former President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the apex body of all the business communities of Bangladesh.
He was chairman of Arbitration Tribunal of FBCCI. He is the past Chairman of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB) which represented all Private Universities of the country.
Kashem was a member of Board of Trustees of Hamdard Laboratories (WAQF) Bangladesh, the leading producer of herbal medicines in the sub-continent for over 17 (seventeen) years.
