A low-pressure system continues to persist over Gangetic West Bengal and nearby regions, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) reported on Monday.
The weather system is creating a steep pressure gradient over the North Bay, prompting concerns of gusty or squally winds that may impact maritime ports, coastal regions, and the adjoining sea areas of Bangladesh.
In response, the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three.
Additionally, all fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay have been instructed to stay near the coast and exercise caution until further notice.
