A procession and rally was held in Gashbari of Kanaighat Upazila of Sylhet district demanding the arrest of the killers of Shihab Uddin.
A huge protest procession and rally was held in Gachbari Bazar of the upazila on Monday (June 2) afternoon demanding the speedy arrest and fair trial of the accused in the murder case of labor leader Hafiz Shihab Uddin, who was brutally murdered by terrorists at Rajaganj Khalpara in Kanaighat Upazila on May 27.

The post-procession rally, chaired by Sulaiman Ahmed and conducted by Jhingabari Union Jamaat Ameer Maulana Bilal Ahmed, was addressed by Sylhet District Jamaat Assistant Secretary and prominent Alem-e-Din Maulana Masuk Ahmed, Kanaighat Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Kamal Uddin and prominent social worker and educationist Mu. Abdur Rahim.
Among others present were Upazila Jamaat Secretary Hafiz Taj Uddin, Assistant Secretary Maulana Mukhtar Ahmed, Maulana Sultan Mu. Sadiqur Rahman, Baitulmal Secretary Maulana Alimuddin, Office Secretary Mao. Shibbir Ahmed and Rajaganj Union Jamaat Ameer Master Mu. Shamsuddin.
It is worth mentioning that the deceased’s wife Hepi Begum filed a case with Kanaighat Police Station on Wednesday (May 28) afternoon in connection with the murder of Hafiz Shihab Uddin. The case names 5 people and 4/5 unidentified people have been named as accused. The accused in the case are Shibbir Ahmed (27), Shahidul Islam (36), Jamal Ahmed (43), Nakamal Ahmed (39), the four sons of Islam Uddin (Boglai) of Khalpar village, and Lutfur Rahman (48), the son of the deceased Anfar Ali of Khalpar village, and 4/5 unidentified people.
