During the monsoon season, musicians in the country are less busy. As an
alternative to this season, artistes are busy performing in concerts abroad.
Several of the country’s musicians have left the country to perform in five European countries this month.
In addition, singer Mila and the band ‘Ashes’ will perform in Canada.
The Belgo-Bangla Cultural Association, a Belgian organisation that aims to promote Bangladeshi culture in Europe, will organise a ‘Tour the Europe’ with several artistes from the country in five countries.
Their performances began with a concert held in Paris on June 22.
Sania Sultana Liza, Ayesha Mousumi and Sagor Baul sang songs there. They were accompanied by Bangladeshi actresses Tanha Tasnia and Sharna Lata.
They are also joined by Sajal Kumar Saha, Rajib Ahmed and Selimuzzaman. And Mousumi Mou is hosting.
Sania Sultana Liza, Ayesha Mousumi and Sagor Baul will then perform in Liège, Belgium on June 29, Zurich in Switzerland on July 5, Milan in Italy on July 6, and Barcelona in Spain on July 13.
Saidur Rahman Liton, president of Blog Bangla Sanghatan, said, “This festival is not just a cultural event, it is part of an ongoing cultural movement. We have organised this tour to spread the sound of Bengali in European cities like Paris, Liège, Zurich, and Barcelona.”
Liza told this correspondent before leaving country, “This year’s European tour will feature five concerts, starting in France. Although she has previously performed in Italy and Sweden, this will be her first time performing in other countries. I hope I can return home after winning the hearts of the audience.”
On the other hand, singer Mila Islam will be performing in four cities in Canada. The first concert of her Canada tour will be on June 28. She will sing at the Rialto Theatre in Montreal on that day. Mila will then conclude the Canada Tour with concerts in Toronto on July 2, Atlantic Music Fast on July 6, and Calgary on July 12.
Meanwhile, the Canadian tour of the band ‘Ashes’ will begin on the first day of July. They will start their performance by singing at a concert in Toronto on July 1. They will then perform in Regina on July 5, Newfoundland on July 10, Halifax on July 3, and Montreal on July 13.
They are scheduled to leave Dhaka for Canada on June 29. The band is scheduled to return to the country on July 14. After that, they are planning to hold several concerts in the country as well.
