Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Tuesday forecasted light to moderate rain likely to occur at most places over two divisions, few places over three divisions and even moderately heavy falls likely over three coastal divisions across the country for the next 24 hours beginning from 9 on Tuesday morning.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions and at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country”, a Met office bulletin said.
Monsoon trough runs through Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
