Entertainment Report :

Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) has been in a bad state for a long time. FDC’s employees are seen protesting for not getting their salaries. To reinvigorate FDC, the shooting floor and equipment rentals have recently been reduced.
This time, the focus is on recovering the money owed by FDC.
On Sunday, newly appointed Managing Director of BFDC, Masuma Rahman Tani said at a press conference, initiatives are being taken to take legal action to recover the money owed.
Masuma Rahman Tani said, “For many, FDC will get money. There are many production companies that have no end to their money. However, they have done a huge amount of work from FDC in the past. There is no mention of refunding the money. I have learned that despite sending them letters repeatedly, no work is being done. Crores of taka are owed to them, but the people here are not getting paid. We will take legal action. Since I’m new here, I would like them to cooperate with me. I have told everyone to communicate on behalf of FDC themselves, instead of just sending letters. First, we will have to politely ask them for their payment, otherwise we will have to take legal action.” Masuma Rahman Tani joined as Managing Director on February 23. That day, the Impartial Film Preservation Committee held a protest rally and press conference in front of the main gate of FDC, demanding her removal.
However, instead of thinking about these things, Tani is only thinking about FDC.
While talking in this regard, she said, “Not just a job or a responsibility, FDC is my love place. When passion meets responsibility, that work takes on a different dimension. Those who came here to work before me were under various kinds of pressure from the government of the time. But this government is working on reforming the country. I will take this opportunity to do my best to reform FDC.” Explaining her plans for FDC, Tani said, “Some works have already started. The rent of the floors has been reduced. So, the number of shootings is increasing. Besides, directors were afraid to shoot here. There were various rules and regulations. Those issues are being resolved. There is still
a lot of room for improvement here.”
