Sylhet Bureau :
The foundation stone of the RCC pouring and drain construction work of the road from Shah Madani Eidgah in Tilagarh to Ecopark via Sylhet Agricultural University has been laid. On Tuesday (July 15), at 9:30 am, the foundation stone plaque was unveiled by Sylhet City Corporation Administrator and Divisional Commissioner (Additional Secretary) Khan Md. Reza-un-Nabi.
At that time, Khan Md. Reza-un-Nabi said that this road, which serves various important institutions including Sylhet Agricultural University, Tilagarh Ecopark, Sylhet Engineering College, Youth Training Center and Dairy Farm, was in a dilapidated condition due to lack of renovation. For a long time, the people of this area, including teachers and students, have been facing difficulties in traveling on the road. Therefore, for the benefit of pedestrians and the public, an initiative has been taken to cast the road from Shah Madani Eidgah to Ecopark via Sikribi with RCC. The foundation stone was unveiled today. We are hopeful that this work will be completed very soon. If the road is constructed, the hardships of teachers, students, tourists and local residents will be alleviated, InshaAllah.
City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Rezai Rafin Sarkar said, we know that Sylhet is a tourist city. Sylhet is also an educational city. There are many educational institutions along this road. We have taken the initiative to develop the road considering the convenience of everyone. We have more plans for this road. Currently, the road is 12 to 15 feet wide. The road will be raised to 24 feet. There will be 6 feet of sidewalks on both sides of the road. Beautification work will be done on the road including lighting, tree-planting. I hope the place will be used as a suitable place for the city residents to breathe.
