In Rangpur, people from different classes and professions pay tribute to language martyrs. Divisional Commissioner Md. Habibur Rahman laid wreath at Rangpur Central Shahid Minar in the first hour of February 21st. Then Rangpur City Corporation Mayor Md. Mostafizar Rahman presented the wreaths.
Deputy Commissioner, Rangpur Range DIG, Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, Muktijoddha Sangsad, Press Club and other government offices, political organisations, social organizations, professional organisations and people from different classes and professions paid tribute to the language martyrs by offering wreaths at Shaheed Minar.
Begum Rokeya University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Md. Hasibur Rashid along with Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Sarifa Salwa Dina and Treasurer Prof Dr. Mojib Uddin Ahmad inaugurated the Mourning Rally on Wednesday morning paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Bengali language. The mourning rally started from in front of the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, circled the main road of the campus and ended at Shahid Minar square.
