Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana Mohammad Shahjahan has said that the public meeting at Laldighi Maidan on December 5 (Friday) will turn into a sea of people to achieve the logical five-point demands.
He said these things at a press conference organized on Wednesday (December 3) at the Chattagram Press Club on the occasion of the rally at the historic Laldighi Maidan in Chattagram division on December 5 by 8 parties demanding the implementation of the 5-point demands. He said that holding a referendum before the national election is not just a political demand, it is a real reflection of national hopes and aspirations, the implementation of reforms.
An election without a referendum will in no way reflect the mandate of the people.
5-point demands: Organize a referendum before the national election to implement the July National Charter (Constitution Order) 2025, introduce the PR (proportional representation) system in both houses of the next national election, ensure a level playing field for all for free, fair and acceptable elections, make visible the trial of all the oppression, torture, genocide and corruption of the previous government, and declare the activities of the Jatiya Party and the 14 parties, which are allies of dictatorship, banned.
It was informed at the press conference that the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will address the nation at the rally on December 5. The press conference, chaired by the Ameer of the Islamic Movement Bangladesh Chattagram Metropolitan Area Muhammad Jannatul Islam and moderated by the Secretary Principal of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Chattagram Metropolitan Area Muhammad Nazrul Islam, the Ameer of the Islamic Movement Bangladesh Chattagram Metropolitan Area Muhammad Jannatul Islam, and the Ameer of the Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis Chattagram Metropolitan Area Maulana Emdad Ullah Sohail, were present at the press conference.
