A farmer was killed by a snake-bite at Chilmari upazila at Austomir Char area in Kurigram on last Saturday at 5 a.m. The victim was identified as Azam Ali, 35, son of Mozammel Haque of Chhalipara village of Ashtamirchar union under the upazila and a farmer. Local sources said a poisonous snake bit Azam in his house at the early morning while he was going to his toilet-room to complete natural activity for Fazar prayer.
Azam rapidly noticed to his relatives who took him into Chilmari Upazila Health Complex firstly and next Kurigram General Hospital. He died in the hospital.
Abu Sayem, Officer-in-charge of Dhushmara police station under the upazila, admitted the incident.
