A member of the Kuki-Chin National Army (KNA), the armed wing of the separatist group Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), was killed during a raid by joint forces in a remote area of Ruma, Bandarban on Tuesday.
The operation, conducted near Darjeeling Para Hill in Ruma upazila, resulted in the recovery of three firearms, ammunition, and other equipment, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) on Tuesday afternoon.
A firefight erupted between KNF militants and joint forces in Darjeeling Para, leading to the death of a KNF member.
The ISPR statement confirms the recovery of weapons and ammunition from the scene, but the identity of the deceased remains unknown, pending an autopsy.
This operation is part of an ongoing effort by a joint force comprised of the army, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), and police to apprehend those responsible for recent robberies in Ruma and Thanchi and recover stolen weapons and money.
