Kishoreganj old collectorate building gutted in fire

A fire broke out at an old callectorate building in Kishoreganj on early Friday Valuable furniture, documents of four government offices including district Traffic office, Record room, Store of District Accounts and Women’s affairs office were burnt.
According to fire service sources, after receiving reports of a fire in the Old Court area at 4:20 am, the fire was extinguished by the fire department. A total of five units, including three units from Kishoreganj Sadar, worked until 7:30 am to bring the fire under control.
Traffic Inspector (TI) Syed Moniruzzaman said that all the furniture including the office computer, laptop, printer, photocopy machine, a motorcycle, case-related documents, and Tk 475,500 in cash were burnt in the fire.
Fire Service Station Officer (SO) Abuzar Giffari of Kishoreganj said, that, work is underway to determine the cause of the fire and extent of the damage.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of Kishoreganj, Md.Hasan Chowdhury BPM visited the scene. SP told the New Nation that, A five members investigation committee has been formed led by Additional SP(DSB) Mahamudul Islam Talukder PPM.
