The annual election of Kishoreganj Bar Association was held at its library Bhaban on Wednesday peacefully.
The Bar elections, Awami League supporters won 5 posts, including the president, and BNP supporters won 9 posts, including the general secretary.
Awami League-backed Md. Shahidul Alam has been elected as the president for the third consecutive time, and BNP-backed Md. Aminul Islam Ratan has been elected as the general secretary for the fifth consecutive time According to the election results, the winning candidate for the post of president, Md. Shahidul Alam, received 421 votes and the only rival, Alauddin Ahmed, supported by BNP, received 80 votes. For the post of General Secretary, Aminul Islam Raton received 291 votes and only rival, Sheikh Shahidul Islam Humayun, supported by Awami League, received 134 votes.
The winners of other posts are – two vice-president Md.Manik (BNP) and Abdur Rashid Bhuiayan (AL),, two assistant secretaries Nadira Sultana Soma, Shahinur Koli (BNP) , Library Secretary Abdullah -Al-Bokhari, Chajadul Haque (BNP) for the position of auditor.
Apart from this, five executive members unopposed are Kafiluddin (AL), Sarowar Jahan Sunny (BNP), Sohag Miah (BNP), Abu Taher Harun and Ahdanuzzaman Nasir (BNP) Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Advocate SM Mahabubur Rahman confirmed the election result, and said that, 537 out od
