Killers of schoolteacher to be brought to justice: Nahid

UNB, Dhaka :
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Monday said action will be taken against those responsible for the death of a schoolteacher in Noakhali during hartal.
“Deputy Commissioner of Noakhali has been ordered to arrest the pickets responsible for the schoolteacher’s death immediately and take action,” said Nahid while talking to reporters at the Education Ministry.
Condemning the incident, the Education Minister said, “We’re shocked and aggrieved at the incident. BNP’s hartal goes against education, examinations and results.”
He urged BNP and its allies to shun the path of hartal for the sake of education and public safely of life.
Shasunnahar, 37, hailing from Poragachha village in Ramganj upazila of Laxmipur district and a teacher of Towhid Laboratory School in West Agargaon area in the capital, was killed after being hit in the head with a brick chip hurled by pickets in Sadar upazila headquarters on Monday morning.
