BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has begun her return journey to Dhaka from London, boarding a special air ambulance arranged by the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
She departed from the residence of her elder son and BNP acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, at around 12:50 pm (GMT) on Monday, according to her personal physician Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain.
Tarique Rahman is personally driving his mother to Heathrow Airport and will see her off there.
Dr. Zahid, who is accompanying her, said the flight is scheduled to depart from Heathrow at 4:10 pm London time (10:10 am Bangladesh time) and will first land at Hamad International Airport in Doha at approximately 2:30 am local time.
Khaleda Zia is being accompanied by her two daughters-in-law—Dr. Zubaida Rahman, wife of Tarique Rahman, and Syeda Shamila Rahman, widow of her late son Arafat Rahman Koko—alongside other members of her entourage, including her medical team.
All preparations for her return to Dhaka have been completed, according to party sources.
