Khaleda undergoes comprehensive care plan at London Clinic

The physicians at the London Clinic in the UK have adopted a ‘one-stop service’ approach for the medical treatment of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia. This integrated plan brings together various specialists to address her health concerns collaboratively.
Speaking to reporters in London, Khaleda Zia’s personal physician, Professor AZM Zahid Hossain, provided details of the decision.
Khaleda has been undergoing treatment at the London Clinic since January 8. Professor John Patrick, who leads the medical board overseeing her care, reviewed her recent medical reports and recommended further tests. Professor Zahid also indicated that two more specialist doctors would soon assess her condition.
“Khaleda is currently receiving treatment for multiple health complications, including liver and kidney issues, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and rheumatoid arthritis,” said Zahid.
He added that consultations had been held with a medical team from Johns Hopkins Hospital in the United States to ensure a comprehensive treatment plan. Doctors from Johns Hopkins have actively participated in discussions with the medical board to collaborate on her care strategy.
The treatment approach takes into account Khaleda’s age, the adverse effects of her prolonged confinement in Bangladesh over the last five and a half years, and the inadequate medical care she received during that period, Zahid explained.
Future steps in her treatment plan will involve contributions from extended members of the medical board, both in London and internationally.
Professor Zahid urged the people of Bangladesh to pray for Khaleda’s swift recovery. “On behalf of her family, we request prayers from the people of the country,” he said.
At 79, Khaleda Zia is battling serious health issues, including liver cirrhosis, kidney problems, heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis.
