BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia held a meeting with members of her party’s standing committee, the highest policy making body of the party, to discuss the strategy of the street movement.
The meeting was held at the Gulshan office of the BNP Chief. Beginning at about 8:45 pm, the meeting was continuing till filing the report at about 10:00 pm. The Gulshan office sources said that the strategy of the next course of action for a fresh poll under a non-party government system, restructure of the BNP, Dhaka city and the bodies of the different front bodies, among other issues were on the agenda of the meeting. But, the meeting specially was discussing BNP-led 20-party alliance’s next street movement for holding the fresh national election.
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was also attended the meeting. The last meeting of the standing committee was held on April 9.
Meanwhile, Khaleda Zia will hold another meeting with the top leaders of the 20-party alliance to finalise the next course of action. The meeting of the alliance will be held also at the Gulshan office at 8:30pm today (Monday), said Khaleda Zia’s press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel.
