An angry mob vandalised KFC restaurants in Zindabazar and Mirboxtula in Sylhet city, claiming to be Israeli establishments. During this, various Israeli soft drinks inside the restaurant were destroyed. After this incident, the authorities closed the restaurant.
The incident took place at 3 pm on Monday (April 7). The situation calmed down when the police reached the spot after receiving information.
Protesters took up positions at various points in Sylhet since morning, chanting slogans such as “There will be no place for any Israeli organization that massacres unarmed Palestinians in this country.” Later, the angry crowd vandalized a KFC restaurant and a Bata showroom selling Israeli products and soft drinks.
The students present said that billions of people in Bangladesh are ready to protect their Palestinian brothers. The ongoing attack is not just an attack on a region, but on the entire Muslim world. World leaders must take effective steps now to stop this inhumanity.
Earlier, groups from different parts of Sylhet city gathered in front of the KFC restaurant located in Mirboxtula and simultaneously took up positions in front of the KFC showroom located in Darga Mahalla. They also took up positions on the streets with various slogans boycotting Israeli products.
