The Kulaura Businessmen Welfare Association (KBWA) has successfully formed its new executive committee following a peaceful and festive election held on Saturday at the Zilla Parishad Auditorium of Kulaura Upazila Parishad.
Voting was conducted from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and results were announced at 6:00 PM. Badruzzaman Sajal was re-elected unopposed as President, and Md. Atiqur Rahman Akhoi also retained his position as General Secretary. A total of 23 out of 35 posts were filled unopposed, while 12 positions were decided through ballots.
Among those elected via voting were: Deputy General Secretaries: Saifur Rahman and Almas Parvez Talukder, Office Secretary: Maulana Enamul Islam, Ward Representatives: Ward 1: Rinku Bardhan, Emon Mia, Ward 3: Abdul Matlib, Ward 4: Md. Gaus Mia, Ward 6: Md. Khairul Islam, Ward 8: Nazim Bakhas, Md. Mostafa Ahmed, Ward Members: Nazrul Islam Suna, Abdul Hannan Suhag
The election was conducted under the supervision of Kulaura Upazila Executive Officer Md. Mohiuddin and Presiding Officer Md. Iftekhar Hossain Bhuiyan, with OC Md. Gulam Apsar of Kulaura Police Station ensuring tight security.
The election council was convened by Khandaker Lutfur Rahman, with members including educationists, journalists, and prominent local businessmen.
Among the 23 uncontested winners were: Vice Presidents: Haji Rafiq Mia Fatu, Dr. Md. Qutub Uddin, Treasurer: Md. Badrul Islam, Publicity and Publication Secretary: The peaceful election and inclusive participation were widely appreciated by local stakeholders, marking a successful transition of leadership within the business community.
