Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and Bangladesh through deeper cooperation in trade, education, energy, and tourism.

He made the remarks while delivering a lecture titled “Nepal-Bangladesh Relations: Pathways for Enhanced Economic and Educational Cooperation” at Daffodil International University in Dhaka. The information was shared on the university’s official Facebook page on Tuesday.

During his lecture, Ambassador Bhandari discussed Nepal’s history and foreign policy, key areas of Nepal-Bangladesh engagement, and the broader significance of regional and sub-regional frameworks such as SAARC, BIMSTEC, and the BBIN initiative.

He underscored the shared opportunities for collaboration between the two neighbouring nations, particularly in investment, energy connectivity, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, as both countries move towards achieving LDC graduation.

During an interactive Q&A session, the Ambassador responded to participants’ questions and views, encouraging greater academic and youth engagement in shaping future cooperation.
In a separate meeting with the Vice Chancellor and senior leadership of Daffodil International University, both sides exchanged views on enhancing academic collaboration, including faculty and student exchange programmes between the university and higher education institutions in Nepal.
