The Officer-in-Charge (OC) and two Sub-Inspectors (SIs) of Kalabagan Police Station have been suspended following allegations of extortion and misconduct.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sazzat Ali took disciplinary action against OC Moktaruzzaman after a formal complaint was filed by Abdul Wadud, a resident of the Kalabagan area, said Deputy Commissioner (Media) Talebur Rahman.
Additionally, Ramna Division police suspended Sub-Inspectors Belal Uddin and Mannan in connection with the same incident.
According to the written complaint submitted on May 2, a police team from Kalabagan Police Station, accompanied by alleged criminals, raided Wadud’s house on April 29. During the raid, the intruders reportedly vandalized property, looted valuables, and demanded extortion money.
Wadud has called for a fair and impartial investigation into the incident.
