‘Kaffara’ to premiere at Cairo Film Fest

The 46th Cairo International Film Festival will begin from November 12 at the Cairo Opera House in Egypt. The international premiere of Bangladeshi film ‘Kaffara’ will be held at festival, said a press release.

The film, starring Farhana Hamid, has been selected in the International Panorama section of the festival. It is directed by Tanvir Chowdhury.

The festival authorities confirmed the information by sharing the poster of the film ‘Kaffara’ on social media last Tuesday.

The story of the movie ‘Kaffara’ revolves around the Imam of a local mosque and his wife. The Imam is suffering from remorse after a tragic incident. His wife tries to save him from the pain of guilt.

Raihan Uddin plays the role of the Imam, and Farhana Hamid plays the role of his wife. This movie marks Raihan’s debut on the big screen.

The movie is jointly produced by Tanvir Chowdhury and Barkat Hossain Palash. Director Tanvir Chowdhury said that ‘Kaffara’ will be screened at the Cairo Festival on November 18.

He will be present during the screening. This year’s festival will end with the announcement of the winners on November 21. Actress Farhana Hamid said, “The story is about the mental conflict and understanding with oneself.

The movie is premiering at the Cairo Film Festival-this is news of pride and joy for us. Starting from the director, every artist and crew member has worked hard and worked with care. So this achievement is an inspiration for everyone.”

Shahria Pulak, MA Maruf, Monisa Archi, and others also acted in ‘Kaffara’.
