Mustafa Kamal Nannu, Tangail
Bangabir Abdul Kader Siddique, President of the Krishak Sramik Janata League, has said that both national and international conspirators are seeking to destabilize the country. Speaking at a press conference at his Tangail residence on Sunday, he expressed concern that current political circumstances may be aiding such elements.
The conference was held in protest of a violent attack and vandalism at his residence on Saturday night. His brother Azad Siddique was also present.
Siddique said, “If a state-recognized war hero’s house is not secure, how can ordinary people feel safe?” He criticized law enforcement for arresting participants at a Muktijuddho ’71 discussion while failing to detain those who led the mob.
He clarified he is not affiliated with the Awami League, stating, “I want to uphold the dignity of the freedom fighters.”
Regarding the slogan “Joy Bangla,” Siddique said the people will decide its fate, adding, “Let the nation judge whether it remains or not.”
