Entertainment Report :
Dhallywood’s actress Kaberi wants to act in films again. She recently said that if she gets the opportunity to do quality work, she would like to act again, but of course it has to be appropriate for her age.
Talking in this regard, Kaberi said, “I really want to act in movies. But there is a fear.
There is no longer respect and honour in films like before. When we were working, the great respect and love that everyone had for artists is beyond words.
But what I hear now makes me sad. Even then, sometimes I feel like working in films again. Because, it is from films that I became the Kaberi I am today. But of course, the character has to suit me.”
Many members of Kaberi’s family have made outstanding contributions to Bengali cinema. Kaberi is the daughter of Malati Devi, a famous female producer of the subcontinent, and is a film actress.
Kaberi’s brother Uttam Akash is a renowned film director of the country. Her husband Pradeep Dey is a producer, director, distributor and exhibitor.
Kaberi and Pradeep have one son and one daughter. Her son Sudeep Dey is a film producer. In 1984, he won the National Film Award as a child artiste for acting in film ‘Nyay Bichar’.
Kaberi said that when she came to Khilgaon in Dhaka from Chandpur and was in Class-V or VI, she caught the eye of director Dilip Som. Dilip Som proposed to Kaberi’s family to make a folk movie about her.
With the consent of the family, Dilip Som made the folk movie ‘Moni Mala’ with Kaberi and Shammi. It was released in 1970.
In 1973, Subhash Dutt’s ‘Balaka Mon’ starring her was released. After that, Kaberi earned the love and respect of the audience by acting in more than a hundred movies including ‘Sukhdukkho’, ‘Abak Prithibi’, ‘Banglar Chobbish Bochhor’, ‘Aamir Fakir’.
