A delegation of Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) led by its Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Abdus Sattar called on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Sunday afternoon.
The delegation informed the President that currently there are 16 departments in the university and 10 more departments will be opened by 2018-19.
It apprised him that 2,470 students are now studying in the university and 30 percent of them are female. The university has recently opened a new department named Physical Education and Sports Science.
The President hoped that the university would be successful in carrying out its academic activities.
He assured the delegation of his cooperation in resolving some problems relating to its research activities. Secretaries concerned of the President office were present.
