Mohammad Hasan (23), who was injured during the July mass uprising, has died while undergoing treatment in Thailand. He passed away around 11 p.m. on Thursday.
The information was confirmed by Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, personal assistant to Health Ministry Adviser Noorjahan Begum.

He said Hasan’s body will arrive in Bangladesh today at 6:15 p.m. on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight. From the airport, the body will be taken to the Central Shaheed Minar, where his first funeral prayer will be held.

Afterward, the body will be sent to Chattogram. Mohammad Hasan was a hafiz of the Qur’an and had been undergoing job training at a private institution after completing his religious education.

According to the Health Ministry, Hasan sustained a bullet injury to the right side of his head during a protest in the Tigerpass area of Chattogram city on August 5.

He was initially treated at Chattogram Medical College Hospital before being transferred to Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for advanced care.

In October, he was sent to Thailand for further treatment, where he remained on life support for an extended period.

On April 10, he was moved from life support to a general ward, but his condition worsened on April 25, requiring him to be placed back on life support. Sadly, he did not recover.
