Israt Jahan Jui is a popular folk music artiste of this generation. As a singer, Jui’s current popularity didn’t happen overnight.
After much hardship, hard work, and perseverance, Jui has become a beloved artiste among listeners and viewers since childhood.
Jui has reached her current position through her own efforts. Jui’s singing career began near her mother, Anjuman Ara Begum Deepa.
She then took singing lessons from two persons in Narsingdi. She completed a four-year classical music course at the Shilpakala Academy there.
After arriving in Dhaka, she completed a three-year folk music course at BAFA under Abu Bakar Siddique.
A few days ago, Jui graduated first in the first class in the field of folk music from the Government Music College in Dhaka.
She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the same subject from the same college.
That is, she is advancing at a rapid pace in the world of music by educating herself properly in music.
A few days ago, Jui’s original song titled ‘Shona Bondhu Korola Dakati’ was released in her voice.
This song, written by Nirmal Das and released on his tune, has received a great response from the audience. On the occasion of Eid, a song titled ‘Protidaan’, written and composed by Jahangir Rana, was released in the voice of Jui.
Jui says she constantly has to create new songs for her two YouTube channels – ‘Israt Jahan Jui’, and ‘Jui Officials’. She has to release two to three songs every month because her two channels are now established for many reasons.
Whenever a new song is released, it gets a lot of response from the audience. That’s why she has no other thoughts outside of music.
However, due to professional reasons, Jui didn’t receive any support or inspiration from any of the country’s established production companies when she started her singing career. That’s why she focused on her own channel with songs.
The first original song released in Jui’s voice was ‘Tumi Bujhlana’. Then, the most popular and discussed songs released in her voice are: ‘Mirpur Express’, ‘Shesh Pakhi’, ‘Dustu Meye’, ‘Sholo Kola’, ‘Morar Kokile’, ‘Bhagge Chhilina’, ‘Bondhu Boro Maya Lagaichhe’, ‘Premer Hawa’, ‘Tumi Kare Paiya Sukhi’, ‘Pirit Modhur Jontrona’, etc.
And the songs discussed among her covered songs are: ‘Tomra Koiyogo Bujhaiya’ (the song has crossed 70 million), ‘Jibon Mane Jontrona’, ‘Kolija Bhuna’, ‘Bondhu Bine Pran Bachena’, etc.
In total, Jui has sung more than 20 songs so far. Jui told this correspondent, “I’m very grateful to the audience. I’m who I am today because of their love. My husband Nazrul Islam Raj gives me inspiration to sing.
But if I had more support from him, I could have gone much further because I don’t understand anything without music. I want to live by holding on to music, and I want to give everyone the gift of better music.”
Jui first lent her voice for the playback song in Shakib Khan’s movie ‘Shooter’. She then also did playback in the movies ‘Abotar’ and ‘Modhu Hoi Hoi Bish Khawaila’.
