JU Prof Moniruzzaman gets Shamsuddin-Ayesha Memorial Award

Professor Moniruzz aman of Jahangirnagar University English department was honored with Abu Jafar Shamsuddin and Ayesha Khatun Memorial Trust Award for the highest quality research publication among all the teachers of the Arts and Humanities faculty of the university.
He received the award at a ceremony held at the Arts and Humanities faculty building here this noon.
JU Arts and Humanities Faculty Dean Professor Mozammel Haque addressed the ceremony as chief guest. Former JU professor Dara Shamsuddin, son of Abu Jafar Shamsuddin and Ayesha Akhtar Khatun, handed over the crest, prize money of Tk 25,000 to the recipient.
The awardee, Professor Moniruzza man said is undoubtedly a pleasure to receive this award for the highest quality publication in 2022 among the teachers of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. When former professor Dara Shamsuddin came to my room, I was very happy and excited. I hope that the other teachers and students of the faculty will also contribute to the education and research of the university and the country in the future by being energized and motivated.
Professor Moniruzz aman graduated from Dhaka University in 1986. After the graduation, he started teaching at Feni Government College. Later, he joined the Jahangirnagar University in 1995 as a lecturer of the English department.
Earlier on 31 March 2006, nine children of Abu Jafar Shamsuddin and Ayesha Akhtar Khatoon, founded ‘The Abu Jafar Shamsudin and Ayesha Akhtar Khatoon Memorial Trust’ aiming to serve the poor and the needy in the spirit of humanism and humility.
