The Nationalist Teachers’ Forum of Jahangirnagar University on Tuesday has formed its new executive body for the 2025 term through a competitive election.
Voting took place from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, and results were announced around 2:00 pm, said Chief Election Commissioner Prof Khondokar Mohammad Shariful Huda.
Prof Md. Shamsul Alam has been elected President while Prof Md. Zamal Uddin as General Secretary. Prof Saleh Ahammad Khan, Prof Mostofa N. Mansur, Prof Md Shahadat Hossain, Prof Mohammad Mammon Hossain and Prof Nasrin Sultana will also serve as the Vice Presidents.
Other key posts include Prof Md. Zakir Hossain, Prof Borhan Uddin, and Prof Mohammad Raihan Sharif as Joint General Secretaries, Prof Mohammad Nazrul Islam as Organizing Secretary, Treasurer Prof Md.Monowar Hossain, Office Secretary Prof Aminur Rahman Khan, Md. Al-Amin Khan as Joint Organizing Secretary, Information and Technology Secretary Professor Md. Fazlul Karim Patowary and Professor Md. Nazrul Islam as Environment and Research Secretary.
The election was conducted by Prof Dr. Khondekar Mohammod Shariful Huda along with Prof Nazmul Alam and Prof Md. Manzoor Elahee as the election commissioners.
