Md. Lutfur Rahman, father of journalist Mahfuz Shakil, Kulaura correspondent of Daily Kaler Kantho and organizing secretary of Kulaura Upazila Press Club, and a resident of Korergram in Sadar Union, has passed away. (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun).

He breathed his last at his home on Saturday. He was 70 years old at the time of his death.

The funeral prayers of the deceased will be held tomorrow, Sunday afternoon at the Sadar Union Parishad ground.

Lutfur Rahman had been suffering from various old-age related diseases for a long time. He was a former three-time successful UP member of Kulaura Sadar Union.

He was also the former general secretary of Nazirer Chowk Eidgah Committee and the current senior vice-president of the committee.

He was also widely known in the area for his social and public service work.
At the time of his death, he left behind a wife, 6 sons, 3 daughters, relatives and numerous admirers.

On his death, a journalist from Kulaura Society, public representatives, political and social organization leaders have expressed deep grief.

At the same time, they prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased’s soul and expressed sincere condolences to the bereaved family.
