Jhenidah Prothom Alo reporter sued

Jhenidah Prohom Alo staff reporter has been sued due to appearing a story of power tiller on May, 27 which had been subsided among 15 farmers in Kotchandpur upazila of the district.
Due to filing one false and baseless GD and an extortion case against Azad Rahman Jhenidah press club arranged an urgent meeting protesting the GD and false case on Tuesday noon at around 12-00 am. At the time the Ittefaque reporter, Bimal Shah, Janakhanto reporter M.A Raihan, Kaler Kantho reporter Saiful Mabud and Azibor Rahman, Jhenidah correspondent of The Daily Star.
Kotchandpur upazila Agriculture officer Sazzad Hossain filed a GD against Jhenidah Prothom Alo staff reporter Azad Rahman while Ashaduzzaman Litu also filed an extortion case with Jhenidah court on Tuesday noon accusing him.
Mizanur Rahman president of Jhenidah press club demanded to withdraw the false and baseless case filed against the reporter. He also sought security of the reporters in Jhenidah. The journalists of the press club will submit a memo to Deputy Commissioner on July, 09. If the demand is not met they will announce a tougher programme.
He added that Azad Rahman has published genuine news. He is honest and free from any politics. He is being threatened to death over mobile phone. He claimed security to the administration.
