Sheikh Sadi Hasan, the vice-presidential candidate supported by the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), asserted that the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections will have no bearing on the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) polls.
“Idea of disruption is being fomented by Chhatra Shibir at Jahangirnagar University,” Hasan said. “We have received thousands of complaints against Shibir at Dhaka University, including reports of vote tampering and advance ballot casting. Whatever unfolds at DUCSU will in no way affect JUCSU elections.”
After voting at Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall on Thursday, September 11, Hasan told reporters, “I have said it before, and I repeat: Jahangirnagar University is distinct in every respect. Our students cultivate independent thinking and a progressive mindset. They will never shelter fanatic or defeated forces here. They never have. In the 1990s, Chhatra Dal triumphed across all JUCSU posts.
